Landmark Court of Appeal success for asbestos victims

The Court of Appeal today ruled (see Cape and Dring Approved judgment) that the Asbestos Victims Support Groups Forum (‘the Forum’) has a legitimate interest in obtaining documents that will shed light on the true knowledge of the dangers of asbestos products held by Cape Intermediate Holdings, formerly one of the largest manufacturers of asbestos products in the UK.

The Forum must be given access to numerous documents which were disclosed in an earlier case in which Cape were a defendant.

Next meeting of Living Well group Monday 6th August 2018

The next meeting of the  Living Well With Mesothelioma group is at 1.30pm on Monday 6th August 2018 in the Lincoln 1 room at Methodist Central Hall (Oldham St, Manchester, M1 1JQ).

This group is for people with mesothelioma and their carers. For more information, please ring 0161 636 7555.

The group’s canal boat trip, which would have taken place on 6th August, is no longer happening, as too many people were unable to make it.

Action Mesothelioma Day in Manchester on 6th July 2018

Thank you to everyone who supported Action Mesothelioma Day in Manchester last Friday.

The aim of Action Mesothelioma Day is to raise awareness of the asbestos cancer mesothelioma, and to campaign on issues affecting mesothelioma victims, for example by calling for more funding for medical research.

Jeff Eaman completes 100 miles bike ride for GMAVSG!

Jeff Eaman of GMAVSG has raised £888 in sponsorship for GMAVSG by doing a 100 miles overnight bike ride from Carlisle to Edinburgh on 23-24th June 2018. Him & his mates arrived in Edinburgh, somewhat exhausted, in time for a beautiful sunrise. Well done Jeff!
