About GMASVG

Greater Manchester Asbestos Victims Support Group (GMAVSG) is a registered charity ( Reg. Charity No. 1113201) dedicated to providing advice and support to sufferers of asbestos diseases. We were formed in 1994 by people who have suffered asbestos diseases.

The information provided in this site is intended to help sufferers, their families and carers to identify what benefits and help they can get.

It is not, however, possible to provide all the details about compensation and benefits, as they can be quite complex. We are no medically trained and do not give advice in this site about medical conditions. But we have used medical terms and have described some medical conditions to help you understand terms used by the Department of Works and Pensions (DWP) - formerly known as the Department of Social Security (DSS).

If you need further advice about benefits and compensation, or help to complete forms etc, make an appointment to see us. (link to How to contact us)
