Fund Raising Events and Donations 2007
 
We are extremely grateful to the many people who have made donations to our charity and who have organised fund raising events on our behalf. We are also grateful to all those who donated so much money to mesothelioma research on Action Mesothelioma Day 27th February 2007.
 
We have tried to record all the donations we have received the events which have been organised on our behalf or to raise funds for mesothelioma research.
 
Presentation June Hancock and Mick Knighton Mesothelioma Research Funds
On the 26th June 2007, in Manchester Town Hall, Dr. Paul Taylor, consultant oncologist, Wythenshawe Hospital, presented a cheque for £10,578 to two mesothelioma research funds: the June Hancock Fund and the Mick Knighton Fund. The total sum donated, £21,156 was raised during sponsorship of a balloon for Action Mesothelioma Day 2007.
 
Charity Auction: Carol Rowbotham, whose husband died from mesothelioma, organised another charity event for us at Stockport Labour Club raising £200.00 
 
Lafargue Bowling Club:   Maureen Barnes, who suffers from mesothelioma, and as last year’s tournament winner, nominated our charity for the Lafargue Bowling club annual donation. A cheque for £600.00 was presented to us on the 15th September.
 
Lloyds TSB Works Dress Down Day. Suzi Cooper, whose father suffers from an asbestos disease, nominated us to receive the proceeds from her company’s dress down day of £140.47
 
Charity Cabaret: Arthur Longson organised a cabaret evening with fellow singers in Our lady’s Social Club, Stockport which raised £1,165.
 
Loch Ness Marathon: Michelle Campbell, whose father died from mesothelioma, and family took part in the Baxters Loch Ness Marathon and the River Ness 10k and fun run and raised £435.00 for our charity.
 
Lough Neagh 150k Cycle: Gary Fielding, whose father died from mesothelioma, raised £300.00 cycling the 150k ride in Ireland.
 
BUPA Run: Mr Ackers, who did the BUPA run on behalf of asbestos victims
 

In Memoriam: We have received many donations from families in memory of their loved ones who have died from asbestos-related diseases. We would like to thank all those families and their friends who have made donations to our charity.
